Editor Pick - St. Lawerance Market Finds

I just came across this photograph of Jessica Stam in a back issue of Harper’s Bazaar, it reminds me so much of this painting (Mañuel) I found at the St. Lawerance antique market a few summers back that coincidentally reminded me of tapestry my grandparents had hung in their basement when I was younger. I had framed and keep in my living room

You can read more about my "random finds" & "tchotchkes" in this Eye Weekly article:

As an extension of his photographic work, he produced numerous short fashion films for Showstudio, Maison Martin Margiela, etc…and has been shown at The London Fashion Film Festival, The British Film Institute, The V&A and The Institute of Contemporary Art London.

Grooming: Pomp up the Volume

(1)  Wet your hair slightly. Be sure not to soak your hair so that it is dripping, but simply add a little water to your hair so that it is damp to the touch.

(2) Scoop a half-dollar size amount of pomade into your palm and rub it between your hands to heat it up. By heating the pomade with your hands, it is easier to work into your hair.

(3)  Apply the pomade to your hair by first slicking the sides of your hair back with your hands. Then apply the rest of the pomade to the top of your hair in a similar fashion by working the product from back to front.

(4)  Now using your blow dryer, bend your head downward as you dry. This will help keep the height you just created. Once you get the height you like, place some firm holding gel over the pompadour. Then finish with a finishing spray. You may want to mess up the front a bit to create a tousle type look.
